the climb
I feel like the biggest dork, but I recently watched The Hannah Montana Movie and it significantly touched my life. I wasn't expecting that AT ALL, my roommate kinda made me watch it with her. However, the words to a song at the end of the movie penetrated a chord deep inside of me. Needless to say, it caused the waterworks to flow. As you've probably noticed, I've kept it pretty low key in my blog posts lately. I don't have a good explaination, except that I'm human and I'm facing challenges. I hope that the words of this song touch you as they have me. And if you can, you should download the song itself. I am grateful for the mountains of life and the mountains of Alaska.
The Climb - Miley Cyrus
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
to my dear friend brittni,
ReplyDeletei should've wrote this a long time ago- i could've been a better friend. what challenges are you going through? how can i be there for you?
but now all i can say is: i miss you.
i know i'll see you again soon in the heavens our God created. but waiting is a hard game to play.
i know you're up there, looking over all of us down here, wishing you could comfort us. because you are truly in a better place. where no one can hurt you. only love. feel free to send the sun shine my way when i need a little pick-me-up, or maybe the rain clouds when i need a kick in the butt to get back to where i need to be. you have always been an inspiration, a comforting shoulder, an understanding ear, a friend when i needed one most. thank you for sharing your life with me.
love your friend forever, brooke.
anchorage, ak.
I wish i could have known you Brittni. You seem like you were a lovely spiritual young lady.I hope you are at peace and I'm sure you are spreading happiness wherever you are.
ReplyDeleteHey! I love this song too! you're not a dork (: hehe
ReplyDeleteRunning in Alaska is a challenge in itself. This song always plays in my head going up the mountains and running on the cross country trails. Now it has a whole new meaning for me. Everytime I hear this song I will think of Brittni and how lucky I was to have known her. Today this song popped up on my ipod shuffle and the tears would not stop falling. You are forever in my heart.
